Designed for the Year of India and inspired by a silk bed embroidered with gold threads from Benares, which now hangs in the dining room of the French ambassador to India. This tapestry depicts hunting scenes. Hunters on elephants, on horseback or on foot hunt tigers, gazelles and birds. Hand-rolled hems. 62 x 180 cm. Traces of wear present. Condition: Good, but used. A good but used item will have been worn and potentially washed but will be in good condition and well taken care of. The item will have visible wear and tear but the defects will be minor.
