Crafted style by Kiko Kostadinov Studio and the ASICS SportStyle development team. The UB7-S GT-2160™ sneaker draws inspiration from intertwined assemblage themes, functional utopias, and Mino ceramics. Soft textures combine with the idea of artisanal elements found in iconic artworks. Creating aspects of matte and washed-out colors, the design team was able to enhance the shape and archival construction of the historic running shoe. Contrasting grid patterns and bold matte colors, the functional utopia-inspired variations apply direct correlations with nature. These glossy primary colorations are offset by metallic structures that accentuate the double-layer mesh materialization. Designers also explored influences of Mino ceramics by investigating contemporary processes of rust-like qualities appearing in Mino glazes. This process considers images like a vase with degraded colors that have the ability to withstand the test of time.
